Suet

Suet is a high-energy, pure-fat substance that supplements birds’ daily diet year-round and is particularly helpful when finding insects to eat is difficult. All of our suets and no-melt suets contain high-quality ingredients, providing critical fats and calories and making every trip to the feeder count. Also, WBU suet is rendered to help remove some of the impurities that can cause spoilage.

Since suet can be messy to put into the cages, try freezing the suet before putting it in the feeder. This will make the cake contract, allowing it to fit in the cage more easily and reduce waste.

Our Suets

They say variety is the spice of life...and the birds think so too! We have a yummy variety of suet and no-melt suet dough for your birds. Offer one or offer them all and see which one is your birds' favourite. All of the varieties below are offered as either a regular suet and a no-melt suet dough.

Naturally Nuts: Our Naturally Nuts® Suet is loaded with lots of yummy nuts, and birds such as woodpeckers, chickadees and nuthatches love to eat it.

Nuts & Berries

Nuts & Berries: With our Nuts & Berries Suet, it's easy to provide your birds an extra energy boost. Loaded with peanuts, almonds, pecans and cranberries, Nuts & Berries is designed to attract suet- and fruit-eating birds like woodpeckers, chickadees, bushtits, nuthatches, wrens and more.

PB&J

PB&J: Peanut Butter'n Jelly® Suet mimics the old childhood favorite, but without the sticky after effects. The peanut butter appeals to birds that like insects and nuts, while the "jelly" (blueberries) attracts fruit-eating birds. Woodpeckers, bushtits, chickadees, nuthatches and others enjoy this high-energy food.

Simply Suet: Pure suet with nothing else added. High-fat, high-energy food. Can also deter nuisance birds.

Hot Pepper no-melt Suet: If you are looking to feed just the birds without feeding squirrels, our Hot Pepper no-melt suet may be the problem solver for you. Made of roasted peanuts, rendered beef suet, corn, oats, and red pepper. Wash thoroughly with soap and water and after handling.

SuperSuet™: Take your suet feeding to the next level! We’ve reached our highest level of fats and protein by blending rendered beef fat, mealworms, roasted peanuts, almonds, pecans, walnuts and calcium. Calcium helps support egg and bone growth. Birds can’t get enough of this ultimate suet blend.

Hot Pepper SuperSuet™: Our highest level of fats and protein with added hot pepper deters critters from stealing from your birds. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water and after handling.

Feed Suet All Year Long

Suet allows you to feed the birds year round. Offer No-melt Suet when seasonal temperatures are above 35º C (95º F) and Suet when temperatures are below 35º C (95º F). No-Melt Suet is designed to withstand temperatures up to 54º C (130° F).

Offering suet at a backyard feeding station is one way to attract a greater diversity of insect-eating birds. Birds that eat suet will still find natural food sources, such as insects, insect eggs and larvae for a well-rounded diet. Birds that eat both insects and seeds, like chickadees and nuthatches, will also visit suet feeders.
