Hulled Sunflower is available as either Coarse Chips, Medium Chips or Fine Chips.
Fine Chips
Fine Chips are just that, sunflower seeds that have been chopped up into fine slivers and pieces.
Coarse, Medium and Fine Chips will attract a very similar variety of birds. All Sunflower Chips are considered a No-Mess seed (meaning they have no shell), however the Fine Chips are even less messy as there is less variety of seed sizes for your picky birds to sort through before finding the one that they want.
Additionally, Fine Chips are a popular choice for those with a lot of finch activity as the size is very appealing to these appraising little birds! Finches are known to break larger chip sizes down to their preferred morsel, with the little pieces that are chipped off going flying away from the feeder and onto the ground. Offering them Fine Chips discourages this behavior.

Medium Chips
Medium Chips are sunflower seeds that have been more coarsely chopped up into a range of piece sizes, with most being around half of a whole seed. Within a bag of Medium Chips you'll also find some chip sizes comparable to Fine, and some that are closer to Coarse.
